Liuhe Countryside Art Gallery

The isolated countryside of Liuhe is hardly the place that one would expect to find a collection of art that frankly would not look out of place the the Louvre. That it is here in far flung Nanjing and not in Paris, not by design admittedly, only serves to heighten its artistic credibility. Herein, some 100 folk art paintings by local residents in all, somewhat incredibly under the common theme of national security, that contain an artistic bent through all except one, show a rarely seen glimpse of the beauty of collectivism under the State. Liuhe Countryside Art Gallery is located some 70km from downtown Nanjing. Take Metro line S8 to Babai Bridge Station (Exit 2B), and walk approx. 450 metres to take the No. 628 bus to Shanpen Station. Find the gallery a further 400 metres from the bus station.
