Woe woe woe is us, when browsing the standard fair found in most Chinese stationary shops. In such desperation, the place to head somewhat sensibly, is the area surrounding Nanjing Arts Institute. There you will come across Yipai Artwork, one of the best stocked art supplies shops in the city. Just look at this impressive stock list: Oil paints, brushes, spatulas, charcoal, easels, drawing instruments, sketch books plus a very large selection of pens, pencils and lead refills; then there is also card and paper in many sizes, thickness and colors, plus a semi decent selection of gift bags, post-it notes, diaries and note books.
