Nanjing’s foreign community has changed much in recent years, and now Muslims make up a considerable portion of the city’s population from overseas. It therefore only makes sense that The Nanjinger makes available a bilingual list comprising many of the city’s halal restaurants.
Despite the 20+ restaurants listed below, the chances are that wherever you live in Nanjing, there will be a Lanzhou Noodles restaurant nearby. As capital of Gansu with a very significant Muslim population, the Province’s famed signature noodles with meat have made their way to all corners of China, literally. Just look for “兰州拉面” (Lanzhou Pulled Noodles) or “牛肉拉面” (Beef Pulled Noodles) on a restaurant’s signage. If accompanied by some Arabic script, it’s almost certainly Muslim. If in doubt, ask the staff whether their meat is “清真” (qing zhen; halal).
