Delegates from the UAE (United Arab Emerites) have dispatched a group of hotels, travel agents, companies and airlines and also tourism departments and representatives of the industry, to Shanghai and Beijing, with stops in Chengdu, Wuhan, Guangzhou and Nanjing for a “Tourism Roadshow”.

Headed by Abu Dhabi the UAE clearly have interests in attracting more Chinese tourists. The roadshow is designed to give people more of an understanding of the UAE.

Recently relaxed visa restrictions for Chinese tourists allow them to now enjoy a visa upon entry waiver from the UAE. As a result a 31% increase in tourism over the past year to the area by the Chinese has tourist officials wanting more.

Among others, Yas Waterworld, Zayed Sports City, Qaryat Al Beri, Al Ain’s Wadi Adventure have all been approved destinations by the China Tourism Academy, whom advise Chinese tourists choose where to go based on Mandarin speakers, Chinese food and Union Pay.
