On 25 March, the Nanjing Pricing Bureau foramlly announced the pricing method for the soon to open Line 2 and Line 1 Southern Extension. The way to determine prices is exactly the same as what was reported here in February, though the Metro Department could not comment on the authenticity of the report at that time. Prices will remain low, but there are concerns that the Metro will not be able to be profitable.
For any ride up to eight stations, the fee is 2 RMB; 3 RMB for a ride of 9 to 12 stations, and 4 RMB for any ride of 13 or more stations. Transfers are free as well. With prices set in this way, Nanjing
