What a momentous occasion it is for Nanjing this month, as we have finally joined the first tier club.
No longer will other states bully us with their first tierness, no longer can they intimidate us with their free trade zones and vegan restaurants! For we have made it into the club and there is no going back from here. Respect, is what we demand and deserve, respect.
Nowhere else in the world has a country been divided up into subsections of better, worse or even worse and encouraged to battle against each other for the chance to become number one. However, like all competitive creatures, we certainly want to be in the first tier club (whether we know what it means or not). No, we must be in! A whopping 14 other cities have also just been initiated along with us; Chengdu, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Tianjin, Chongqing, Xi’an, Changsha, Qingdao, Shenyang, Dalian, Xiamen, Suzhou, Ningbo and Wuxi.
