Jiangsu Tourism Boasts Steady Growth

Nanjing’s annual visitor satisfaction index results are out and results are positive. Maintaining steady growth with an average score of 82.94, Nanjing and four other cities have been the first to achieve what is being called “full-dimensional satisfaction” in each section surveyed. 

The Jiangsu Provincial Tourism Bureau entrusted Tsinghua University to conduct surveys over a 4-year period regarding visitor satisfaction. Environment, public services, scenic spots and more were among the surveyed categories.

Such growth in the Jiangsu tourism industry has been helped in large by initiatives such as the “Miss Su” campaign, whereby five successful international tour guides were selected as candidates. Fans met the guides on the official website and voted for their favourite “Miss Su”. The final winner goes on to be the main figure of the campaign.

As part of the campaign, “The Wonder Trip of Miss Su” started in Suzhou in August, 2017, a city in Jiangsu known for its canals, bridges and classical gardens. The official Facebook page “Visit Jiangsu” recorded the whole campaign and released videos of the tours.

No mention was made of a “Mr. Su”.

Tourism companies are working together with the Jiangsu Tourism Bureau in order to successfully open Jiangsu up as a destination hotspot. With more and more international flights, share cars and bikes and English savvy Facebook pages, the results are speaking for themselves.
