Workers Stabbed by Customer at West Nanjing Rd Coffee Shop

At 19:55 on 27 August, 2018, it was reported there has been a stabbing at a coffee shop on Shanghai’s famous West Nanjing Road. 

At the intersection of Nanjing Xi Lu and Jinbo Lu two workers in a coffee shop got into an argument with a customer. 

The 45-year-old male customer, Jing, was said to have been eating a meal at the cafe when the argument began. What the argument was about remains unknown at this time. 

In a police report the male customer was reported to have picked up a foldable fruit knife, which he used to attack the two male workers. 

Police arrived quickly after being called in to deal with the stabbing incident. The two workers are reported to be in a stable condition.

Videos emerged on the Chinese internet later on that evening, showing two men bloodied and lying on the street. However no where have these videos been proven to be linked with the incident.
