The pedicure technique in Yangzhou is a traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment method. The pedicurist can diagnose foot diseases through asking, observing and touching, and trim and cure the foot by use of professional tools, pedicure techniques and appropriate traditional Chinese medicine.
In Dec 2014, the pedicure technique in Yangzhou was selected into the fourth batch of the traditional medicine project (extended project) of the list of National Intangible Cultural Heritage Representative Projects. Lu Qin, the only female inheritor of pedicure technique in Yangzhou, chairman of National Pedicure Association and image ambassador of Bath Association, participated in the full-process application of state-level intangible cultural heritage project.
