The first full cargo aircraft to Nanjing in two years, a Boeing 747 aircraft of China Airlines flight CI9551, landed at the Nanjing Lukou International Airport at 2:30 am on August 5.

In November 1998, Nanjing had cargo flights to Winnipeg, Canada, and in the peak period of 2006, there were 1,639 cargo flights, with cargo volume reaching 52,300 tons. However, as a result of the financial crisis and other factors, cargo flights were reduced and then cancelled in 2015.

The local government of Nanjing and port departments have given full play to the airport hub resources this year, and vigorously support the development of the Nanjing Airport hub economic zone.

The full cargo flights will now be a regular service, with cargo aircraft continuously leaving from Taipei for Nanjing at 1:00 am every Sunday.
