A late-model police car was unveiled in Nanjing on August 13, which is expected to be put into use before the Youth Olympic Games (YOG).
The police car is equipped with new type of car light and high-definition camera, the equivalent of an automobile data recorder, which can record a real-time video, measure the speed, and take pictures and videos of violations.
It is learnt by reporter that new police car is also installed with a lot of high-tech equipment, including vehicle-mounted electronic information screen, high-definition camera, collision avoidance lights, etc. One can control the equipment by a tablet besides buttons on the car. When police found illegal behaviors, they can take the evidence timely by high-definition camera and send the information to the command center by the 3G network.
New police car will also be mounted with the microwave transmission equipment which can be applied in disaster relief. When 3G network signal is unavailable, this equipment can be used to transmit the information including pictures and video by microwave to the command center.
