Two large tunnel shield machines were seen 18 meters under the ground on November 4th, 2014. Their presence’s purpose? Aiding the construction of Nanjing’s future metro line 4. The left line of the tunnel has been dredged for 840 meters, ready to go under the Qinhuai River, the largest river that runs through central Nanjing.
