Opened up as recently as 1st June, Qian Doudou Café is the latest hangout in the Nanjing university area around Hankou Lu. Named after its charming local owner (great name, by the way) and taking a nostalgic route for its choice of interior decor that gives one the distinct feeling of being in Republican era Nanjing, Qian Doudou Café serves up the standard selection of coffee (with prices as cheap as ¥15 for an espresso or Americano), tea, juices and beer (the new Baby India Pale Ale brand from Nanjing based brewer Oktoberfest) that go down well in an environment dotted with various rustic items of memorabilia amid a gaggle of potted plants. Open from midday until 10.30pm.
