Cleaner picks up 1.5 m in cash

Cleaner Aunt Yu picked up a heavy suitcase filled with 1.5 million yuan (US$ 244,500) in cash in a residential area in Kunshan while doing some cleaning on July 7.

Aunt Yu saw a half-meter-high black travel suitcase at an elevator of an underground parking garage at 8 a.m. on the day, believing it might be put there temporarily by someone, but she found it was still there at 10 o’clock when she was after work. To ensure the safety of the case, she dragged it to the nearby entrance guard room.

In order to gain relevant information and seek the loser, the security guards decided to open the suitcase. After they input three zero as the password, the suitcase was opened unexpectedly. More surprisingly, it was full of hundred-yuan cash inside the case. A security guard immediately reported to the police

The police found later the suitcase owner Lin, a purchasing agent from a coal company in Inner Mongolia, who left it there after drinking. The huge sum of money was returned to its owner on July 8.
