A unisex loo recently appeared in a shop on Pingjiang Road in Suzhou.
In the loo, there are three blue cubicles and three red cubicles, the former for both men and women, and the latter for women exclusively.
According to the rules posted at the door, men are required to use the left cubicles, and women can use both the left or right cubicles, although the right cubicles are recommended. The rules also remind users to bolt the door and not to joke or say hello to others during the usage to avoid any disturbance to others. The loo is free of charge.
According to Mr Yang, designer of the loo, his shop offers cultural creative designs. On the one hand, he hopes to add more creative facilities. On the other hand, he thinks it a good solution to open unisex loos to offer more choices and convenience for women.
[Ed.] This is an innovation the members of the feminist five who protested for more female public toilets can bank as a success.
