On the same page as the CPC conference, let’s take a moment to be positive. If you rode a bus in Nanjing a decade ago, it kinda functioned but was held together by transparent adhesive tape. For most people, pedalling a bicycle was the primary transport. Nanjing was rather primitive, but it worked. Look at the city now. A massive fleet of modern air-conditioned buses (many silent electric), an ever-expanding Metro rail network, and private cars becoming ubiquitous. We are living in a modern miracle. So when some foreigner sneers. “OIC” (Only In China), take the time to point out some good stuff around us.
