For the third year in a row, the leading exhibition for cyclists and bike enthusiasts in China, Asia Bike, allowed the public to inspect the newest range of products lined up by the biking industry.

On an over 36 thousand square metre space that is three times the size of the first exhibition in 2011, bike fanatics were able to browse sports and luxury bikes plus related products hitting the market in 2014, exhibited by 394 different bike suppliers. As much as 80 percent of these were international companies, a sign of the rising importance of the exhibition to the industry worldwide.

Compared to the previous year, the number of participating companies increased by over 65 percent, reflecting the growing popularity of biking as more than a medium of transport.

In the exhibition space “Show in Show”, 50 sports and luxury bikes could be viewed, that alone ran up a combined value of over ¥5 million and are currently the most innovative and exclusive bikes in the field.

The stars of this year’s exhibition were made up of a mountain/e-bike hybrid, an Urban Bike specifically designed for snowy and off-road trails and the winning bikes from both the Tour de France and Olympic champions.

Visitors were also able to enjoy a multitude of different activities including demonstrations, workshops, a fashion show, test rides plus sports bike trainings for budding cyclists and seminars for bike dealers.
