When Carlo D’Andrea met Jiangsu governor Li Xueyong on 16th September (see photo below), he was doing much more than fulfilling his role as Chairman of the board EUCCC Nanjing Chapter. In a first that saw Mr. D’Andrea present to the Governor in person the EUCCC Position Paper 2013, the event intensified a relationship between the EUCCC Nanjing Chapter and the Jiangsu Authorities that is set for further stimulus with the advent of next month’s Chamber hosted Jiangsu Government Dialogue conference.

Following on all accounts a successful, engaging and transparent first outing last year, on 7th November the European Chamber of Commerce in Nanjing and Jiangsu Province present the Dialogue at the Sofitel Galaxy which aims to further the exchange of information between business representatives and governmental officials to facilitate the growth of business in Jiangsu in addition to improving operations and investment environment.

In attendance shall be representatives of major provincial government departments (full list follows this article) along with those from EUCCC Nanjing Chapter member companies. While almost any relevant topic can be raised for discussion, the EUCCC Position Paper is expected to be cornerstone to the proceedings.

Now in its 13th edition, the European Business in China”2013-2014 Position Paper” is presented to the Chinese Government and EU policy-makers each year, culminating in constructive recommendations to promote China’s sustainable economic growth. This year’s paper includes 26 vertical industry working group papers with more than 800 recommendations. It draws directly from the knowledge and expertise of the Chamber’s 1,700 member companies following a six-month consultative process.

While not an event that is open to the public, Jiangsu Government Dialogue welcomes participation from non EUCC professional companies. That said, questions can be raised only by Members and agreed in advance.
