Since last Saturday, many people may have experienced itchy eyes, sore or dry throats, and an unpleasant feeling in their mouths. Nanjing residents also may have noticed that generally everything was recently covered in dust. Much of this was due to the recent dust storm, but other factors contribute to this, as well.
Because of rain, conditions should improve. However, it is important to note that based on historical trends, these conditions have become more and more prevelant. Not only that, but these conditions are unsurprisingly not just caused by dust, but also from human pollution.
