Chinese-American Si Chen was arrested last Tuesday when trying to illegally export highly sensitive space communication technology, said to be worth over $100,000, from the United States to China.
Appearing at times under her other alias’ Cathy Chen and Chunping Ji, it appears Federal police have been watching her for sometime after packages she tried to send back in 2015 had their import/export stickers removed.
Si Chen has been charged with 14 indictments that include conspiracy, money laundering, making false statements and using a forged passport. It has been reported that Ms. Chen received payments from family members in China involved in the scheme; if convicted she faces 150 years in jail.
