This day, 29 October, in 1980, Deng Xiaoping met with Thai Prime Minister, Prem Tinsulanonda, a meeting in which Deng said that the seeking of hegemony is not socialism. Without a peaceful international environment, China cannot build peace of mind and improve people’s lives. In order to oppose hegemonism, China can also make sacrifices for what the nation needs to achieve.
