This day, 27 March, in 2017, during Premier Li Keqiang’s visit to New Zealand, China and New Zealand signed the “Memorandum of Arrangement between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of New Zealand on Strengthening Cooperation on the Belt and Road Initiative”, making New Zealand the first Western developed country to join the Initiative.
