This day, 5 October, in 1961, China and Nepal signed a boundary treaty in Beijing, which came immediately into effect. Based on the China-Nepal Boundary Agreement of the previous year, and in accordance with the “Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence”, and in the spirit of fairness, reasonableness, mutual understanding and accommodation, the China-Nepal border issue was successfully resolved.
