This day, 15 August, in 1945, Emperor Hirohito of Japan announced the surrender of Imperial Japan to the Allies. After 8 years of bloody struggle, the Chinese people finally ushered in the final victory in their War of Resistance Against Japan, laying a solid foundation for China’s new democratic revolution and the establishment of a new China.
