This day, 30 April, in 2010, President Hu Jintao announced the opening of the Shanghai World Expo. With 246 countries and international organisations participating, during the following 6 months the Shanghai World Expo would see more than 73 million visitors, the highest number of visitors ever in the history of the World Expo which dates back to 1851.
