Back in 2013, Mei Lun Shang Pin Hair Saloon opened its doors and started the trend for pubs that cut your hair, or, as the promotional literature more attractively puts it, “a relaxing bar scene that offers the perfect atmosphere in which get your hair done while enjoying your choice of both alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages”. Now, they have taken things to the next level by bringing Dason Bistro into the appealing mix, operating as a Japanese restaurant from 10:00 to 20:30 before turning into a pub with live music and tv sports. On the hair front, Mei Lun Shang Pin targets the lucrative expat market by having both foreign stylists and translators on hand. When night falls, after a stressful day, the concept of relaxing over a Japanese meal accompanied by a drink to a bit of semi decent music while being given a potentially stunning makeover is certainly appealing.
