When one goes for a massage in Nanjing, there is always a little fear that where I am going is not in fact a massage parlor. You know what I mean. Therefore, it brought me much relief when I was introduced to this incredibly modest but unquestionably legitimate place, which is inconveniently hidden in a small alley off Zhujiang Road. Finding it is half the trouble, but once you do it is a great deal. The basic package is 20 RMB, and includes having your feet soaked in hot water infused with medicine while your back and neck are rubbed. After you are loosened up, it is time for a foot massage, with optional foot cleaning which costs a few RMB extra.
So, why is this place unquestionably legitimate? Simple answer: all the workers (except for the boss) are men. If you don’t mind having a man rub your feet, then this is definitely a good place to go for a cheap and really good massage.
