Carlo D’Andrea has been The Nanjinger’s legal columnist since August of 2011, when our monthly series, The Gavel, first began. It’s been a long road for us all, one that for Carlo, could lead to becoming the Vice President for the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC). The Chamber’s new national leadership team shall be elected in Beijing on 27 May. And we’re backing Carlo all the way. Currently Chairman of the Shanghai Chapter of EUCCC, we wondered what makes Carlo think he’s the right man for the job.

If elected under this term, I will work with the President and other VP in order to have more Integration, innovation and cross pollination among our seven Chapters.

For integration, we shall improve cooperation among the Chapters; for example to have Working Group meetings held not only in Shanghai and Beijing, but also in smaller Chapters; to have always a different point of view coming from different chapters;

For Innovation, in order to attract more new members, to retain what we have and to have more attendees to our events we shall always provide innovative topics. We shall always look for the best speakers available for our members. Innovation for an association also means to look into the new technology and into digital changes to provide only the best for our members;

For cross pollination, the best practice and the most successful events/seminars shall be tried and organised in all Chapters.

We shall have a systemic and holistic approach to replicate what is good for our members.”

For us, having worked with Carlo for more than a decade, we can say there is no question of his devotion to the European cause and the work of the the EUCCC.

Roll on that election; go Carlo, go!
