Today’s challenging global economic climate means investment is no longer just about money. It’s human resources, ideas and plain hard work, plus a huge investment of time. Combining all that with lifestyle choices makes informed decisions more vital than ever before.

That’s why the 2002 Invest Nanjing Innovative Service Product Launch Conference held today was significant for anyone in the business community thinking of setting up a presence in Nanjing. Or indeed for that matter, those already in Nanjing but seeking to grow their business.

An initiative of the Nanjing Investment Bureau, this morning’s ceremony saw the launch of four bundled products that make up the “Nanjing Investment Service Toolbox”:

  • Smart Investment Map (SIM)
  • Nanjing I·MAX (Investor Max) mini program
  • Nanjing Investment Service Hotline
  • “Difference” promotional video

The large-format SIM is a paper map that aims to provide a general overview of the Nanjing investment scene. Agglomeration areas and major upstream and downstream enterprises from more than 20 industries are clearly shown, as well as information such as industrial positioning, carrier support and contact information for more than 30 key parks in the city.

I·MAX is the initiative’s truly smart end of the stick. Leveraging big data models, VR technology and other means, I·MAX provides investors with more than 800 investment carriers, over 500 support policies and more than 1,000 industrial facilities in the city. In practice, if you are looking for a plot of land in the city, I·MAX can show you what’s available, along with the accompanying necessary key information. It will also find you a café nearby and a suitable hotel for after you’ve checked out your land.

The Nanjing Investment Service Hotline (962118) went into trial operation in February this year, aiming to provide investors with personalised professional answering services such as investment policy consultation, cooperation negotiation. The service is multilingual, it is claimed.

“Difference” indeed is an odd name for a video. The message at its core is that Nanjing is changing, but in its heart remains the hub of culture and education with the industrial advantages and terrific positioning it has always had. The video addresses key issues about which investors are often concerned, such as urban industrial foundation, rule of law in the business environment, guarantees in the supply of talent, as well as geographical and ecological conditions. Watch the video on YouTube below or via this link.

The Nanjinger was present at the launch and has had the chance to sample the individual elements of the Toolbox, with the exception of the service hotline. It’s without question an impressive package. The downside is the I·MAX mini program is only in Chinese. Find it for yourself by searching WeChat mini programs for “智投南京智慧系统” or scan the code below.

Also held as part of this morning’s ceremony, appropriately enough in the IMAX cinema in Lizhi Plaza by Gulou Square, was the award ceremony for Nanjing Investment Bureau Investment Partners and Jinling Investment Ambassadors. Among the former is the Nanjing Foreign Affairs Service Association (NFASA).
