7 folk paintings, created by peasants of Sheyang county, Yancheng city and recommended by People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries of Jiangsu Province, were recently exhibited in Styria, Austria.
This is the 16th time for Sheyang’s folk paintings (farmer paintings) to be exhibited in foreign countries.
Sheyang abounds in resources of distinctive culture and folk art. Its farmer paintings, which originated from the cultural creation of the ancestors of local people, in particular, have had a history of 700 years.
The exhibition tour was first held in Styria, Austria, while the subsequent exhibitions will be held throughout Austria in the next six months.
