Around 30,000 bricks from the Ming Dynasty were found at a two km section of wall of Nanjing Electric (Group) Co., Ltd. at the foot of Badoushan Mountain in Qixia District of Nanjing on June 12.

This is the biggest discovery of Ming Dynasty city wall bricks in Nanjing in recent years.

The Nanjing city wall’s existing length is about 25 km. From the late 1950s to the early 1960s, some sections of the city wall were demolished and the dismantled bricks were used as building materials. In recent years, Ming Dynasty city wall bricks have been found in old houses and buildings in Nanjing.
