Nanjing cloud-pattern brocade will enter the fashion realm of France and join hands with top fashion designers this year. In addition, Nanjing cloud-pattern brocade will be displayed in the Louvre for the first time.
China’s leading fashion designer Laurence Xu came to the Nanjing cloud-pattern brocade Research Institution on April 1. With his design draft, he was to select shell fabric for his new products which are set to be showed on Paris Fashion Week. At present, the new products are being weaved.
Last March, Laurence Xu’s “Colored Silk Ball Fashion Show” amazed the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week as the Nanjing cloud-pattern brocade debuted on world’s top fashion stage. According to a five-year cooperation plan he signed with Nanjing Cloud-pattern Brocade Research Institution, all fashion shows held in Paris by Laurence Xu will use this kind of brocades as the main shell fabric and the design element within the cooperation period.
Besides appearing on the runway show of the Paris Fashion Week, the Nanjing cloud-pattern brocade will join hands with another famous designer Xu Ming and appear on her personal fashion show held in Louvre. At present, both parties have concluded a preliminary cooperation intention and are talking over details. What’s more, there will be a Chinese traditional culture display during the fashion show and the weaving and craftsmanship of Nanjing cloud-pattern brocade will be showed in the Louvre.
