The 2017 China Nanjing International Plum Blossom Festival is scheduled to begin on Feb 17, a reporter learned from Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum Scenic Area on Feb 14.

Over 35,000 plums in Meihua (plum blossom) Mountain will be in full blossom during the festival, the best season to enjoy plum blossom this year.

The activities in the main venues of the festival this year will last from Feb 17 to Mar 17.

To date, over 35,000 plums in more than 360 varieties have been planted in Meihua Mountain with a total area of 1,533 mu (102.2 hectares), ranking the leading place in China in the plum-planting scale, quantity and variety.

At present, some early-blossoming plum varieties are already in full blossom, attracting a large number of shutterbugs.
