Johns Hopkins University-Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies was established in 1986 in order to bring Western culture and Chinese culture together through the medium of exposure to each other’s culture, history and contemporary thought.
By bringing people together in a serious study environment both John-Hopkins Univerisy and Nanjing University could better bridge the gap between the two cultures.
