Somewhat fittingly, the students at Nanjing’s University of Aeronautics and Astronautics now enjoy eating their daily meals under the stars.
A series of photographs have surfaced on the internet of the newly refurbished, futuristic, universe-themed cafeteria.
Known locally as “Nanhang” (a much-needed shortening of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics), the university is an elite Double First Class Discipline University, according to China’s Ministry of Education, established in 1952.
Ranked amongst the top 250 universities worldwide, Nanhang has produced a world expert on Grey System Theory, in Sifeng Liu, and in Tzou Hornson, a world expert in smart structures and “Structronic Systems”.
Nanhang began enrolling foreign students in 2005, with its first batch of graduates coming from Nepal and Pakistan. Over the past 13 years, over 400 international students have graduated from the university.
