Jinling Bamboo Carving Museum

This privately run museum is a hidden jewel dedicated to preserving the art and technique of Jinling bamboo carving by training the next generation of bamboo carvers. The art of Jinling Bamboo Carving originates from the Ming dynasty and is unique to Nanjing; the aesthetic carvings have gained national fame with its complex technique and intricate detail. The museum is the only private museum in the entire country specialised in Jinling carving, displaying famous works of this folk art on a 400 square meter area.
